Mr. Speaker, we are unequivocally committed, and have been since 2015, to working in partnership with first nations, Inuit and Métis communities across the country to advance self-determination and reconciliation. We have tripled investments in indigenous housing, mental health, access to clean drinking water and jobs, to contribute to economic reconciliation. We have also moved forward to compensate first nations children and families who suffered under the discriminatory child welfare system. We have built over 30,000 homes since 2016, and we recently announced that we will move forward in creating an indigenous loans support program. There is, of course, much more to do, but we will keep doing it.

Mr. Speaker, for years, we have been investing in housing, in various programs to help students and low-income families and to encourage housing construction. We will continue to do that. We know we have to be there for our students, because support for them in the short term will contribute to society in the long term. That is why we eliminated interest on federal student loans in the last budget. We will continue to be there with more help for students, which includes continuing to look at ways to help them with rent.

Mr. Speaker, during the pandemic, we increased the funding for the Canada summer program to help young people. Now that the worst of the pandemic is behind us, we are bringing the funding back to prepandemic levels, with a bit of an increase. We invested even more in different programs to help young people. Young people no longer have to pay interest on their federal student loans. We made bigger investments in programs and bursaries for them. We will continue to be there for young people. I thank my colleague for his very good question.
