Mr. Speaker, the government is mired in one of the worst financial scandals in the public service. It happened somewhere in the public service, yet to be determined. It is the worst scandal since the sponsorship scandal, which relegated the Liberal Party to obscurity for many years. We have made four clear requests: that the Prime Minister acknowledge his responsibility; that he call an independent inquiry in addition to, but more limited than, that of other authorities; that he recover the money, for goodness' sake; and that he put the CBSA under administrative supervision after this massive mistake. Let us start with the first. Will the Prime Minister admit that, as Prime Minister, he is accountable and responsible to the people of Quebec and Canada?

Mr. Speaker, that is obviously grossly inadequate. The government just got $100 million from Google through an agreement that we would really like to get our hands on. That is great news. Private media already had to cut more than $100 million from their operations, however. CBC/Radio-Canada not only wants to dip into the $100 million from Google, but it also wants to cut French-language and regional services. On top of that, it wants to hand out bonuses. It is about time that CBC/Radio-Canada be held accountable before Parliament. Does the Prime Minister agree?

Mr. Speaker, that may be why the Prime Minister put on a show in front of the Chinese president. It is because nothing happened. Quebeckers and Canadians must stop accepting superficial answers. The government needs to be held accountable. It claims to be protecting institutions, but it is actually protecting the Prime Minister, the Liberal Party and Chinese interests by remaining silent. It is only natural that we are asking questions about financing in the Prime Minister's riding. To put all of this behind it, is the government prepared to ask for an investigation into financing in the Prime Minister's riding in 2016?
