Madam Speaker, I listened to the member's speech and I appreciate that she is, especially in her riding, building those relationships. She said early in her speech, and she has repeated it again, “our first nations”, and she said something to justify why she uses that term. I find it a bit disconcerting, because it is certainly not the way I would refer to Kahnawake, the neighbouring reserve to my riding. Could the member say more on that and why she said that diversity is not a strength?

Mr. Speaker, protecting species at risk and working hard to achieve our conservation objectives is a priority for my constituents. We know how important wild species and natural spaces are to our way of life, and we also know that nature is a crucial ally in our fight against climate change. Can the Prime Minister tell us what our government is doing to protect species at risk and stop biodiversity loss?

Mr. Speaker, halting and reversing the biodiversity decline presents a major challenge that we all need to tackle together. Canada is providing leadership on the world stage when it comes to tackling climate change and protecting nature. Can the Minister of Environment and Climate Change update the House on the latest developments towards achieving an ambitious global framework on biodiversity?
