Mr. Speaker, after eight years of this government, let us examine its record.
Housing costs have doubled. Immigration wait times are interminable. Over 800,000 Quebeckers are using food banks every month. Our streets are less and less safe. Violent crime is on the rise.
The kicker is that the Prime Minister now wants to impose his incompetence on the provinces. That is like handing our front-door key to the crooks who just burgled our home.
Will the Prime Minister admit that he is not even competent enough to manage his own government and that he should just mind his own business?

Mr. Speaker, as the minister often says, after eight years, those watching at home know very well that the Prime Minister is the only one responsible for the incompetence he has shown in his area of jurisdiction.
It is no wonder that Quebec does not want him underfoot. The Prime Minister wanted to interfere in housing and the price of rent doubled in Quebec. He wanted to interfere in the lives of middle-class people, and he shattered young families' dreams of home ownership and middle-class workers now have to rely on food banks. When the Prime Minister interferes, Quebeckers pay a heavy price.
Will the Prime Minister listen to common sense and put aside his plans to meddle even further in areas where he has clearly shown that he has no expertise?

Mr. Speaker, after eight years, this Prime Minister is just not worth the cost of his incompetence.
His inflationary policies have increased the cost of everything: rents have doubled, inflation is at a 40-year high, violent crime is making our streets more and more unsafe, and Quebeckers are getting less and less for their money.
After breaking just about everything in Ottawa, the Prime Minister has spent the last two weeks announcing that he now wants to impose his incompetence on Quebec's jurisdiction.
Can the Prime Minister mind his own business?

The Prime Minister's ArriveCAN app is not worth the 10,000 people who were put in quarantine without justification.
The Auditor General said that the government paid too much for the Prime Minister's app. It is not worth the at least $60 million paid by Canadians. It is not worth the corruption. Does the Prime Minister realize that?

Mr. Speaker, we just got a clear, simple, frank and transparent demonstration of the Liberal government's incompetence.
The member for Winnipeg North just told us that 49 MPs were briefed because they were allegedly victims of intimidation or interference by foreign regimes, in particular the regime in Beijing.
What steps were taken, what diplomat was expelled and what individuals were arrested in light of the information that the government has in hand? The member just proved that the government was informed but that it did nothing.
The sad fact of the matter is that the regime in Beijing already influences the government. It is time for the government to realize it, to put an end to it and to implement the measures required, including launching a national public inquiry. That is how Canadians can be apprised of this matter, and not just the part that the government feels like presenting to Canadians.

Mr. Speaker, it is time for the Prime Minister to stand up before Canadians and answer for his incompetence. We know he does not like to show up for work. He has never had to work. He has never had to stand in line to get a passport nor worry about whether or not he could go on vacation in Jamaica. He has never had to wait in airports because he travels by private jet. He has never had to worry about paying bills at the end of the month because he has never had to balance a budget.
When will the Prime Minister finally work on fixing all the problems he has created in the past eight years?

Mr. Speaker, the Prime Minister wrote a long letter to public service employees in 2015, promising to bargain with them in good faith, yet he is the only prime minister in 40 years who has failed at the task.
Worse still, he is the only prime minister to have managed to hike the cost of the public service by 50% in the span of eight years, to $21 billion, while still failing to prevent 150,000 employees from going on strike. That takes a special level of incompetence.
How does he plan to explain this monumental failure to everyone affected by this incompetence?

Mr. Speaker, after eight years of this government, the effects of its incompetence on the daily lives of every Canadian family are plain to see. Fully 22% of Canadians do not have enough money to deal with the worst cost-of-living crisis in 40 years, and 28% of women cannot make ends meet.
When we talk about an incompetent government, this is what we are talking about. This is what Canadians are so concerned about.
According to the Liberals, everything is fine, and it is everyone else's fault that everything is broken in this country. Why do they insist on emptying Canadians' pockets with the carbon tax instead of helping them by cancelling it?

Mr. Speaker, I wonder how he can say that and also justify staying in a $6,000 room. Not many Canadians can afford to stay in a room that costs $6,000.
I misspoke earlier. It was not $200 million more that was spent during the pandemic but that had nothing to do with the pandemic. It was $200 billion. That is the reality. When will the Prime Minister stop blaming everyone else and start taking responsibility for his incompetence?

Madam Speaker, I agree with my colleague on two points.
I agree with his view of the government's incompetence in fighting inflation and improving the cost of living for everyone. I also agree with him when he talks about acting wisely to provide quick solutions for Canadians.
Acting wisely would have meant voting for our motion to stop the government from going ahead with its plan to raise taxes, which will increase the cost of absolutely everything for Canadians in the coming months. That would have been wise.

Mr. Speaker, another example of Liberal incompetence is the mismanagement of the Pinocchio affair.
Two senior ministers contradicted the Minister of Public Safety in committee by testifying that no police force specifically asked for the Emergencies Act to be invoked. The President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Emergency Preparedness said, and I quote, “I'm not aware of any recommendation from law enforcement.” There is squabbling in the Liberal ranks. The Minister of Public Safety has lost the confidence of his own colleagues.
When will the Prime Minister demand his resignation?
