Motion No. 59 That Bill C-50, in Clause 8, be amended (a) by replacing lines 15 and 16 on page 7 with the following: “8 (1) The Council consists of no more than 15 members, including two co-chairs, who are to be appointed by the Governor in Council, on the recommend-”; and (b) by deleting lines 19 to 28 on page 7.

Mr. Speaker, he was talking about the point of axing the tax. The Province of Saskatchewan, starting in January, told the Crown corporations to no longer collect the tax. The inflation in Saskatchewan has actually dropped almost a full point in the month of January. I am just wondering what his thoughts on that are.

Mr. Speaker, there is one part about this bill. All it seems to do is create a big round table for a bunch of Liberal insiders to get fancy appointments. What would the people of Portage—Lisgar think about a bill only creating a couple of round tables and not actually doing anything for workers, as they say?
