Mr. Speaker, the member said “round of applause, everybody”. He should know that he cannot talk to other members in the House. He can talk only to you. I am more than willing to accept and recognize the fact that they balanced the budget in 2015 on the backs of veterans.

Mr. Speaker, the member is making a point of order. At the end, he said that simply saying “through you, Mr. Speaker” does not allow members, given what the rules are, to start speaking to somebody directly. An hon. member: Debate. Mr. Mark Gerretsen: How is that debate? I am literally talking about a point of order.

Mr. Speaker, on a point of order, it is one thing to say “through you” and then suddenly turn to direct all comments and point fingers at another member. It is pretty clear what is going on. I do not think that the member was saying all of that to you personally, Mr. Speaker, so perhaps he would want to reflect on the rules of the House.

Madam Speaker, I can certainly appreciate the passion in the member's speech, but he did just start talking directly to Liberal members. He said, “You have...”, and I am certain he was not talking about you. Perhaps he would like to rephrase that.

Mr. Chair, I recognize that you are just sitting in the chair as of now, but both this Conservative member and the previous Conservative member have used the term “you” numerous times, and the member just said it again. Perhaps they need a time out to go back and rewrite their notes or something, because they keep reading the term and the phrase “you”. Perhaps you could stress to them that they are to speak through the Chair to you because I doubt that they are asking all of this of you, Mr. Chair.

Madam Chair, I rise on a point of order. The member just said, “Why did it take you so long?”
