Mr. Speaker, for many Canadians, Thanksgiving long weekend marks the beginning of fall. Many will spend the weekend raking leaves, harvesting what they planted this summer and, hopefully, eating a delicious meal surrounded by family and friends. We all recognize that this has not been an easy year for Canadians. Many are struggling with the high cost of living. That is why I am so thankful to live in and represent a community whose members take care of one another, look out for their neighbours and are always there to lend a hand when someone needs it. Today, I give thanks for the incredible generosity of the citizens of Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who play an important role in my life, including each of my dear colleagues here in the House. I wish all of my constituents in Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne a happy Thanksgiving. I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving.

Madam Speaker, the Service de sécurité incendie de l'agglomération de Longueuil recently received a 2022 municipal award for excellence in the special COVID‑19 category from the Union des municipalités du Québec. The Longueuil fire department was being honoured for its role in coordinating municipal emergency preparedness organizations in response to COVID‑19. At the beginning of the pandemic, the department implemented a regional governance framework and held meetings to coordinate decision-making, co-operation and alignment in the greater Longueuil area. The department's leadership and professionalism during this unprecedented time has benefited all citizens of the agglomeration. I congratulate the Service de sécurité incendie de l'agglomération de Longueuil, its director, Jean Melançon, and all of its members on winning this fantastic award. I want to thank all of them on behalf of the people of Longueuil—Charles‑LeMoyne.

Mr. Speaker, the environment is a very important issue for my constituents in Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne. Yesterday we announced a major investment in the biomethanization facilities in Varennes, which serve the city of Longueuil, among others. Could the minister tell us more about this project and what it would do for the Quebec economy and for our environment?
