Mr. Speaker, invoking the Emergencies Act is not a minor affair. It is a big deal. When the act is invoked, a public inquiry must take place in order to provide an update and clarify everything that happened, all the decisions that were made and the justifications for why it was done. That is why this public inquiry has been launched. I look forward to being there to share my thoughts on this so that Canadians can understand why it was necessary and so that they can understand that it was done in a responsible manner.
