Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. On immigration, the economic statement does not actually say anything about a process to bring newcomers into Canada any faster. I do not know if my colleague is having issues in his riding, but in my riding and every other riding in Canada, there are all kinds of problems with immigration files. Unfortunately, the department can take up to four years to fix those problems. If we want to bring more people into Canada through immigration, the government will have to find a way to speed up the process. There is nothing at all about that in the economic statement.

Mr. Speaker, Liberal inaction has struck again, creating an unprecedented vicious cycle for Canadian entrepreneurs who are facing a labour shortage hell. This is yet another issue on top of the problems with EI, passports, foreign workers, permanent residency and identity theft in Canada. What does this Prime Minister intend to do about his overall incompetence?

Mr. Speaker, the temporary foreign worker saga continues. A number of businesses in my riding received their confirmation letters of a positive labour market impact assessment on April 15, 2022, after more than eight months of waiting. That is far too long and the process is not even complete. The government has a duty to simplify the process for approving temporary foreign workers. At some point it needs to walk the talk. When will it do so?

Mr. Speaker, the government needs to implement a plan to save Quebec's manufacturing industry as quickly as possible. Anything less will not do. The government needs to make the labour shortage a priority before our businesses move to other parts of the world because of this government's lack of leadership. Will the government conduct a full review of the approval process for temporary foreign workers so that it is faster, more flexible and more consistent for the well-being of Canada's economy?

Mr. Speaker, the manufacturing industry in the greater Chaudière-Appalaches region is currently losing $7 million a day in production as a result of the labour shortage in Quebec.
