- That the motion be amended by deleting all the words after the word “That” and substituting the following:
"the third report of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, presented on Thursday, March 31, 2022, be not now concurred in, but that it be recommitted to the committee for further consideration, provided that:
(a) the committee be instructed to
(i) make every effort possible to receive evidence from Ben Chin, Rick Theis and Amitpal Singh, the witnesses who did not comply with the House's order of Thursday, March 25, 2021, to appear before the committee,
(ii) consider further the concerns expressed in the report about the member for Waterloo's failure "in her obligation to be accurate with a committee",
(iii) report back within 60 sitting days; and
(b) the committee be empowered to order the attendance of the member for Waterloo, from time to time, as it sees fit.".

- This bill, called the Sergei Magnitsky Law, seeks to amend the Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act. The amendments in this bill include allowing the government to restrict or prohibit certain activities in relation to family members of foreign nationals who are responsible for gross violations of internationally recognized human rights. It also allows the government to order the seizure, freezing, or sequestration of the property of these family members if it is believed to have been given to them to impede the enforcement of the Act. Additionally, the bill allows the government to order certain entities to provide information necessary for the enforcement of the Act. Parliament would also have the power to amend or revoke certain orders or regulations made under the Act by motion. Lastly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs would be required to report annually to Parliament on actions taken under the Act, resources committ
