Mr. Speaker, Bill C-18 sets out, in black and white, the rules that the various media players must follow to ensure much healthier competition and quality content for everyone. It is no secret that small media outlets are in immediate need of financial assistance from the government. What does my colleague think about that?

Mr. Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague from Abitibi—Témiscamingue for his wonderful speech. We are talking about Bill C-18, which is about privacy protections and ending the destruction of regional media. We really need our regional media. Better informing the public and ensuring better oversight of technology is about protecting democracy. Can my colleague tell us a little more about how Bill C-18 needs to be improved and amended?
