Mr. Speaker, today I would like to recognize Jean‑Marie Giguère's commitment to the Mauricie branch of the Union des producteurs agricoles. Today we celebrate nearly a quarter-century of devotion to the farm union movement, including nine years as president of UPA Mauricie. Jean‑Marie Giguère is passionate about horses and has developed significant expertise in breeding magnificent Percherons. He will now have more time to spend on his passion and his family. On Sunday, Martin Marcouiller was elected to take his place. Mr. Marcouiller has held various positions with the UPA since 2004 and, having spent time in his kitchen talking about various agricultural ideas, I can guarantee that the future of UPA Mauricie is in good hands. As Mr. Giguère says, “The future of agriculture is up to society as a whole.” I agree. I thank both men for their passion.
