Madam Speaker, I want to thank the member for opening up the debate on this very important opportunity, as he just mentioned. I wanted to ask specifically about the indigenous funding and on reserve. The member mentioned in his speech that federally the opportunity to fund education for persons with disabilities is not as vast as it could be. I just wonder if he would not mind just sharing some of the things the federal government could be doing for indigenous children, and also, learning throughout a lifetime.

Mr. Speaker, public transit is how Canadians get to work, how students get to school and how caregivers travel between communities, yet since the pandemic, a financial crisis has meant cuts to public transit across the country. This hurts people and the climate. The Liberals have failed to be a reliable partner when it comes to funding this essential service. They must fix it now. Will the Minister of Finance secure permanent operational funding for public transit in today's budget?

Madam Speaker, the member talked about the vital telecommunications and other infrastructure losses, as well as the need to proactively move on the energy transition, so my question is about the energy transition. What does the Bloc feel is the barrier for the government to start moving on the energy transition and stop investing in fossil fuel expansion projects?

Mr. Speaker, before I ask my question, I want to recognize Port Moody firefighters, Coquitlam firefighters, Port Moody police, Coquitlam RCMP and the volunteer organization of Coquitlam Search and Rescue for their work to bring stranded people to safety in Abbotsford. As we face more and more of these extreme weather catastrophes, I would ask the member for Pitt Meadows—Maple Ridge if the Conservatives agree that there should be more federal support for these organizations that always come together to help.
