  • That the House note:

    (a) that the federal carbon tax is causing a debate in the country; and

    (b) that, while Quebec, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories already have their own systems in place, the federal government mandates carbon tax policy;

    that the House call on the Prime Minister to convene an emergency carbon tax and tarification meeting with all of Canada's 14 first ministers; and

    that this meeting be publicly televised and held within five weeks of this motion being adopted.

    “the House note:

An Act to amend the Constitution Act, 1867 (oath of office)
  • This bill changes the Constitution Act, 1867 to allow elected officials in Canada to choose to take either an oath of allegiance, an oath of office, or both, before taking their seat in the Senate or House of Commons. The oath of office commits to carrying out duties in the best interest of Canada while upholding its Constitution. This bill was introduced in June 2023 and is now available on the House of Commons website.
