This is a new law that sets out the Canadian government's plan for a country-wide system for early learning and child care. It includes commitments to funding for provinces and Indigenous peoples, as well as the establishment of a National Advisory Council. The law aims to provide high-quality, affordable, and inclusive early learning and child care programs for families across Canada. It also acknowledges the importance of Indigenous-led systems and the rights of Indigenous peoples. The government will provide an annual report on the progress of the system.
That, in relation to the consideration of the Senate amendment to Bill C-35, An Act respecting early learning and child care in Canada, the debate not be further adjourned.
That, in relation to Bill C-35, An Act respecting early learning and child care in Canada, not more than five further hours shall be allotted to the consideration at report stage of the bill and five hours shall be allotted to the consideration at third reading stage of the said bill; and
That, at the expiry of the five hours provided for the consideration at report stage and at the expiry of the five hours provided for the consideration at third reading stage of the said bill, any proceedings before the House shall be interrupted, if required for the purpose of this order, and in turn every question necessary for the disposal of the stage of the bill then under consideration shall be put forthwith and successively without further debate or amendment.
That the bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
