Madam Speaker, I would like to invite my colleagues in the Conservative Party and its Quebec caucus to take inspiration from what happened in Quebec during the debate on medical assistance in dying. We discussed it calmly and in a non-partisan manner. We looked at the data and let the science guide us. In his speech, my colleague insinuated that Quebeckers and Canadians could request medical assistance in dying because they were hungry or because they could not make ends meet. Unfortunately, that is mere demagogy. My colleagues are using misinformation, in other words, inaccurate information, to mislead Canadians and Quebeckers, perhaps at the prompting of the religious right, which I strongly suspect controls the Conservative caucus. I will simply ask my colleague whether he spoke to his fellow caucus members from Quebec to determine what exactly Quebec thinks about medical assistance in dying.
