Mr. Speaker, December 1 has been World AIDS Day since 1988. It is an opportunity for people around the world to join forces against HIV-AIDS, to demonstrate support for people living with HIV and to remember those who died. I would like to thank the researchers and doctors for the medical advances that revolutionized HIV prevention and treatment. I would also like to invite all members of the House and all Canadians to join me in thanking the people in our community who work to prevent AIDS, put an end to stigma and all forms of discrimination, and help people get the care, treatment and support they need.
