Mr. Speaker, a community is the reflection of its people. These are the extraordinary people who make a community like Vaudreuil-Soulanges famous across Canada. Today I would like to pay tribute to one of these people. Gilles Boyer is an exceptional man who dedicated his life to the well-being of the population of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. As president of the Kiwanis, founding member of the Regroupement des gens d'affaires de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, president of Le Zèbre Rouge for almost 15 years and member of the board of directors of the Fondation du centre hospitalier Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Mr. Boyer is an example of selflessness and of what a Canadian can aspire to become. He is all heart and, even after retiring, he still helps young and old carve out a place for themselves in our community and in the world. I would like to thank Gilles for everything he has done, and for what he is still doing for our community of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. He has made a difference in very many lives. We are a far better and stronger community thanks to him.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to highlight the incredible work of Bev Woods and her team at Gift from the Heart. Bev Woods opened her first dental hygiene office in Trenton, Ontario, as a location for her community to receive free care. Dismayed by the fact that many could not access the free services she offered, she founded Gift from the Heart and the flagship outreach mobile community cruiser, a refurbished and repurposed ambulance, to ensure that there were no barriers to accessing oral health care. Last September, Bev and her team set up a mobile clinic in the town of Pincourt to provide free dental care to seniors, seasonal workers and Ukrainians who have recently arrived in Canada. They were welcomed and served by dental hygienists Joy Maderazo, Roshni Desai, Martine Daigneault, Sonia Caceres, Sophia Baltzis, Tayyaba Fiaz, Vanessa Bravo and Laura Iorio and also by a team of dedicated volunteers. Together, they gave their time and their expertise to brighten the smiles of so many in my community. On behalf of everyone who calls Vaudreuil—Soulanges home, I say, “Thank you.”

Mr. Speaker, as the holiday season approaches, I rise today in the House to salute the organizations in my community of Vaudreuil—Soulanges and their support teams, who work tirelessly to help people in need. They include the Dorion Dream Center, L’Actuel in Vaudreuil‑Dorion, Le Pont Bridging and Meals on Wheels in Hudson, Café de la Débrouille in Rigaud, La Source d’Entraide in Saint‑Lazare, as well as Moisson Sud‑Ouest and the meals on wheels program at the Centre communautaire des aînés Vaudreuil‑Soulanges. We are fortunate to have such a diverse group of dedicated and organized volunteers. On behalf of this entire community and the House, I express my sincere thanks and gratitude. I also invite everyone in Vaudreuil—Soulanges to continue showing the solidarity that we have always shown and give to these organizations that have always given to us.

Mr. Speaker, with the holidays fast approaching, Operation Red Nose's safe ride service will once again help keep our roads safe. This year, Operation Red Nose of Vaudreuil-Soulanges is once again looking for teams of three dedicated volunteers to provide safe rides home every Friday and Saturday night in December. Once again, the team from my office and I will be among them. I invite everyone in Vaudreuil-Soulanges to join us by signing up as volunteers at operationnezrouge.com. I also encourage all members of my community of Vaudreuil—Soulanges who are planning an office gathering, or are simply having a few friends or family members over to celebrate the season, to please continue to do their part and plan ahead. Booking their Nez rouge ride is easier than ever through the free Nez rouge app, and can be done the night of. Let us spread the word and spread the cheer, and together we can make sure this holiday season is safe.
