  • That, given that since the NDP-Liberal Prime Minister took office, opioid overdose deaths across Canada have increased by 166% according to the most recent data available, the House call on the Prime Minister to:

    (a) proactively reject the City of Toronto's request to the federal government to make deadly hard drugs like crack, cocaine, heroin, and meth legal;

    (b) reject the City of Montreal's vote calling on the federal government to make deadly hard drugs legal;

    (c) deny any active or future requests from provinces, territories and municipalities seeking federal approval to make deadly hard drugs legal in their jurisdiction; and

    (d) end taxpayer funded narcotics and redirect this money into treatment and recovery programs for drug addiction.

The Minister is required to prepare and complete a report providing data on directors, trustees, officers, or like officials of registered charities and whether they are members of designated groups as defined in the Employment Equity Act. The report must be tabled in Parliament and published online. The provisions of this bill apply to taxation years that begin on or after the first March 31 after the bill receives royal assent. The bill will come into force on the second March 31 after it receives royal assent.

    That, at the expiry of the five hours provided for the consideration at second reading stage of the said bill, any proceedings before the House shall be interrupted, if required for the purpose of this order, and, in turn, every question necessary for the disposal of the said stage of the bill shall be put forthwith and successively, without further debate or amendment.
