Building a Green Prairie Economy Act
  • This bill, known as the Building a Green Prairie Economy Act, requires the minister responsible for economic development in the Prairie provinces to work with other ministers and develop a framework for cooperation and engagement in implementing federal programs across various sectors. The objective is to build a green economy in the Prairie provinces. The framework must include measures to address transportation options in small cities and communities, foster job creation and skills transfer, prioritize projects that promote a clean environment, support clean energy development, establish programs that stimulate a green economy, and prepare infrastructure projects for climate change adaptation. The minister must also prepare and publish reports on the progress and effectiveness of the framework.
