The hon. member knows full well that there is some flexibility when debating and answering questions. I find that the hon member for New Westminster—Burnaby is actually raising points of debate. He may not like what was said; he can address that through speeches or through questions and comments. Resuming debate, the hon. member for Peterborough—Kawartha.

The hon. member is raising points of debate, not points of order. I do want to remind members to please be cordial in the House. As I indicated a while ago, this is a very sensitive matter, and I would hope that there would be respect within the House, whether individuals are supportive or not supportive of what is being said.

Again, I just want to remind members that there are opportunities for questions and comments. These are points of debate. The hon. parliamentary secretary.

Mr. Speaker, I rise on a point of order. The member has risen on a point of order that is not a point of order; it is a point of debate. If he thinks that the member is mistaken in some substantive point she made in her speech, the appropriate time to raise that would be during questions and comments. We should not be using points of order to make points of argument.
